About

This is an image of a boy looking in the refrigerator for chicken parm that his mom left.

David O’Boyle is an indie author exploring both the wonder of childhood and the mystery of adulthood — sometimes in the same sentence.

He writes under two banners:

  • El Yobo — children’s stories with a wise, gentle core
  • Transient Visitors — adult fiction in tiny, fleeting forms

Choosing to be an independent author wasn’t just a business decision — it’s a creative commitment. David wanted the freedom to tell stories that don’t always fit neatly into boxes, to experiment boldly, and to connect directly with readers without filters or gatekeepers. Self-publishing means every step — from writing and editing to design and marketing — is a labor of love. It’s a path that’s both challenging and deeply rewarding.

This site is the central hub of his creative universe — a place where strange little ideas find their orbit, and readers can launch into the world that speaks to them most.

Whether you’re here for picture books about silly dogs and sock monsters or stories about space buses bound for penal colonies… welcome.
